Deoskar is further guilty of passing off Madhura as too naive, her holier-than-thou image is not entirely believable. The film would have worked better if it identified a few things that Madhura herself wanted.

What Madhura personally gains or the changes she experiences by performing the tasks is never clearly laid out. Where Bucket List falters is that the period of self-discovery of its leading lady is too sudden and hardly compelling. These moments are a much-needed distraction from the heavy drama unfolding wherein Sai's miffed twin brother lectures Madhura on how she is taking the spotlight away from his sister's contribution, Madhura's rebellious daughter who constantly undermines her and her husband (Sumeet Raghavan) who gives her freedom only with the condition that she continue to be the ideal domesticated woman.

They predominantly involve Madhura's funny grand mother-in-law (Shubha Khote delivering cracking lines) and her spirited friend (Resham Tipnis) pushing her to forego her goody two shoes ways and be a little naughty and learn to live for herself. What Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar does well is give his protagonist delightful experiences/sketches that push her out of her comfort zone.
